Walker Spotlight: Kenny Braddy

Make Friends
— Kenny Braddy

That’s the main advice Kenneth Braddy said he’d give to any young salesperson starting out in this career – make friends, build relationships and the sales will come…and you’ll have a lot more fun along the way.

Kenneth (Kenny) Braddy, longtime Walker, Barnes and Hussey Paint & Body BDM is retiring at the end of July after working the same job, out of the same building in Tarboro, for almost 49 years.

Kenny’s first parts job was in 1973 with the Hussey family in Tarboro working the parts counter, cleaning, whatever needed to be done. In 1999, Barnes bought out that store and he went to work for them until becoming part of Team Walker when the store switched hands again.

Regardless of what name was on the building, Kenny had one constant – his customers.

“I’m going to miss the people the most,” said Kenny. “My family of customers or friends or whatever you want to call them. That’s definitely what I’ll miss.”

If you’ve ever met Kenny, you know that he can make friends easily, always ready with a quick joke to get the whole group laughing. He has some customers who’ve bought from him almost since the beginning – even vacationing to Nevada recently with one of his longtime customers and friends.

“If you make the relationship, they’ll buy from you. People buy from people. But you also need to tell your customers thank you – that’s the key and it’s not that hard,” said Kenny.

We are so excited to see Kenny get to kick his feet up, enjoy retirement and hopefully get to spend more time in Chocowinity with his wife, kids, and grandkids. Plus, we’d imagine many of his customers will be stopping by to share a few jokes with their lifelong friend!

Thanks Kenny again for all the years of hard work!
